New Delhi (Urban Transport News): The 3.2 km long Escorts Mujesar – Raja Nahar Singh (Ballabhgarh) section of the Kashmere Gate–Escorts Mujesar corridor also known as the Violet Line is now ready for passenger operations. This extension of Delhi Metro's Violet Line consists of two stations–Sant Surdas Sihi and Raja Nahar Singh.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi flagged off the operation of the first metro train to Ballabhgarh today. Ballabhgarh will become the fourth city in Haryana to get Metro connectivity after Gurugram, Faridabad, and Bahadurgarh. After the opening of this extension, the entire Kashmere Gate – Raja Nahar Singh Metro corridor will become 46.6 kilometers long.

"The Delhi Metro is now 317 km long. This is indeed a major achievement as our capital’s Metro is now among the largest in the world. The way it is touching the peripheral satellite cities is also praiseworthy", said Minister of State for Housing & Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri. "This is the 6th occasion in 2018 when the Delhi Metro is opening a new section. So far, we have opened about 88 km of new lines in the current FY 2018-19 out of which, 65 km alone has been opened as an extension of the Delhi Metro network", he added. Currently, 25.8 km of Metro lines are operational across Haryana. After the opening of this section, the total length of Metro kilometers in Haryana will become 29 kilometers. Connectivity Benefits The Escorts Mujesar–Raja Nahar Sigh (Ballabhgarh) section will be extremely crucial from the point of view of connectivity for the city of Ballabhgarh, Faridabad, South-East Delhi, and Central Delhi areas. Ballabhgarh is an upcoming urban settlement which is an industrial city. Large numbers of people travel every day for their professional requirements from Ballabhgarh to Delhi and vice-versa. This corridor will be of help to these people. Ballabhgarh is a bustling urban settlement in the Faridabad district of Haryana with a population of about 2.14 lakh people.
Ballabhgarh is an Industrial city which houses large numbers of units and is a source of employment for lakhs of people who travel there from Delhi. The Raja Nahar Singh Metro station of this section will be integrated with the Ballabhgarh Railway station and the interstate Bus terminal of Ballabhgarh directly with a foot overbridge which is currently under construction. Engineering and other Challenges The Raja Nahar Singh Station in Ballabhgarh is situated adjacent to Ballabhgarh Interstate Bus Terminal and Ballabhgarh Railway Station.
This station is five storey building having two commercial floors above track level. This station is having parking on the other side of the National Highway–2 which will be directly connected to the station via a Foot Over Bridge. The Sant Surdas Sihi Station is situated near NCB (National Council for Cement and Building Material Institute) Station Architecture Both the stations are located on the side of National Highway-2 and will be connected to the other side of Highway with Foot Over Bridges. There are entry structures on the other side of the Highway having lifts and escalators for access to the station.
While the lifts and escalators inside the station premises are operational, 03 Lifts and 03 Escalators at Raja Nahar Singh are currently under installation and shall be operational by end of December 2018 Both stations of the Line- 6 extensions are equipped with the latest energy efficient equipment/systems, such as LED lighting, Regenerative Braking in Lifts, VRV Air conditioning, etc. Operations Plan A peak hour frequency of six minutes and 48 seconds will be maintained on this section between Badarpur and Raja Nahar Singh on weekdays. All trains which till now were operating till Escorts Mujesar will go up to Raja Nahar Singh. A total of 40 trains will be operational on the entire Kashmere Gate – Raja Nahar Singh corridor.
