IUT looking for Project Director for PM-eBus Sewa Project

New Delhi, India (Urban Transport News): The Institute of Urban Transport (IUT) India has announced a significant opportunity for a Project Team Leader to join the Project Management Unit (PMU) of PM-eBus Sewa. This role offers a chance to contribute to the enhancement of city bus operations in selected cities in India, making a positive impact on urban transportation.

Vacancy Details

Position: Project Team Leader
Number of Vacancies: 01 (One)
Maximum Age: 50 Years
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Science, Maths, Commerce, or IT from a recognized university.

Experience:

  • Total work experience: Minimum 15 years.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in STUs/ Public Transportation or bus/rail/logistic operation/management, etc.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of projects under PM e-Bus Sewa scheme.
  • Monitoring project progress, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinating with MoHUA, State government agencies, city authorities, OEM operators, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensuring effective communication and collaboration among team members, stakeholders, and partners.
  • Leading and managing the PMU team, assigning tasks, setting priorities, and providing guidance and support.
  • Facilitating the resolution of disputes arising from bus operations and payments.
  • Handling any other work assigned by MoHUA as per project requirements.

Nature of Employment

The selected candidate will be appointed on a contract basis initially for one (01) year, with the possibility of annual extensions based on satisfactory work performance. The project duration is currently three (03) years.

Remuneration

The selected candidate will receive a consolidated salary of Rs 3,30,000/- per month, which is negotiable, along with a hired vehicle for official duty. Annual salary hikes will be admissible, subject to satisfactory performance.

PM-eBus Sewa Project

The Government of India has granted approval for the implementation of the PM-eBus Sewa project under the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs. This initiative aims to procure 10,000 e-Buses and establish the necessary infrastructure to enhance city bus operations in selected cities. Successful execution of this project is poised to revolutionize the public transportation system, particularly in smaller cities, the North East region, and cities introducing city bus services for the first time.

To oversee the implementation of PM-eBus Sewa, a Project Management Unit (PMU) is being established within the Institute of Urban Transport. This unit will operate under the purview of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and will be led by a Project Team Leader—a seasoned expert in the field of public transport, specifically bus operations and management. The PMU will also comprise additional experts specializing in various aspects of the scheme.
