Kolkata, India (Urban Transport News): The Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) on Tuesday opened financial bids of General Consultancy (GC)-cum-Project Management Consultancy (PMC) contract of corridor 3 (Joka – Esplanade) of the Kolkata Metro Railway project.
According to the result announced by RVNL, the consortium comprising Yuksel Proje India Pvt Ltd and Tumas Group has emerged as the lowest bidder among the other four bidders. RVNL not yet disclosed the financial positions of the bidders, however, sources said that Yuksel Proje – Tumas JV had quoted Rs 88.96 crores to won this contract.
The winner has been selected by adopting the Quality and Cost Based Selection (QCBS) method. The technical scores received by each bidder is as under:
Tender (No. RVNL/KOL/UGMetro/MJT-ESP/GCcumPMC) for the selection of GC and PMC was invited in December 2019. The technical bids were opened in July 2020. A total of eight bidders had submitted their bids. Two bidders AECOM India Pvt. Ltd. and Metropolitan Milanese were disqualified in the technical round.
The scope of work includes the provision of General Consultancy cum Project Management Consultancy works for Construction of Elevated and Underground Metro Railway Works from Majerhat (Ex.) to Esplanade, Approx. 6 Km in connection with Joka-BBD Bag Metro Corridor of Kolkata Metro Railway Project.
The route of Line 3 spans 14.215 kilometres from Joka in the south to Esplanade in the north with an extension of 2 km to Diamond Park from Joka. A total of 14 stations will be built on this line.
Yuksel Proje India Pvt. Ltd is a Gurgaon based consultancy firm while TUMAS (Turkish Engineering Consulting & Contracting Co.) is a Turkey-based consultancy form.
