Vande Bharat Train coaches will soon be manufactured in Greater Noida

Greater Noida, India (Urban Transport News): Titagarh Wagons Ltd and Ramakrishna Forgings Ltd, both based in West Bengal, have approached the Yamuna AuthorityExpressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) with a request to allocate 100 acres of land for the set up of a plant for manufacturing of coaches for the Vande Bharat Train (Train 18) in Gautam Buddha Nagar. 

At present, both companies are engaged in manufacturing of coaches and wheels for the Vande Bharat train in West Bengal. The two companies have planned to invest Rs 25,000 crores in the project, including Rs 7,000 crores in the first phase.

Anil Kumar Agarwal, Director of Titagarh Wagons, along with Lalit Kumar Khaitan, Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of Ramakrishna Forgings Limited, met with Dr Arun Vir Singh, CEO of Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), and expressed their desire to set up a manufacturing unit in the area under the authority's jurisdiction.

The proposed land for the project is identified in Sector 10 of the Greater Noida. Company officials have inspected the site and expressed their willingness to move forward. After considering the proposal, YEIDA will allocate the land under mega-investments. YEIDA has also suggested that the companies apply to the government for the allotment of the land along with oral consent.

The companies are currently producing 800 rail coaches and manufacturing rail wheels every year in West Bengal. They also plan to manufacture rail wheels under this project.

In a previous initiative, YEIDA had allocated 25 acres of land in Noida Sector 32 to PPS International Company for the manufacturing of metro coaches. The company paid approximately Rs 44 crores for the land, and the factory is expected to manufacture 100 metro coaches annually.
