New Delhi, India (Urban Transport News): Vensa Infrastructure emerged as the lowest bidder for the civil construction of Maharaja Agrasen International Airport's new integrated terminal building, cargo building, and ATC tower in Hisar, Haryana. The project, overseen by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), encompasses a terminal spread across 37,970 sq. m. capable of handling 1000 peak-hour passengers. Equipped with three aerobridges (with provision for two more in the future) and four baggage claim belts, the new terminal aims to enhance airport infrastructure in Hisar.
AAI initiated the tender process in December 2023, with an estimated budget of ₹503.71 crore and a completion deadline of 960 days (2.63 years). After technical evaluations in March 2024, Vensa Infrastructure emerged as the lowest bidder with a bid value of ₹412.58 crore, significantly below AAI's estimate. Here are the financial positions of all bidders:-
The scope of work includes the Construction of an Integrated Terminal Building, Cargo Terminal, ATC Tower cum Technical Block, Fire Station Building with a Fire Control Tower including Ancillary Buildings like an Office Building, Maintenance Building, Security Building, Sub-Station etc. The contract is expected to be awarded post the conclusion of the Lok Sabha elections' model code of conduct.
While Vensa Infrastructure may not be widely recognized beyond airport tenders, their bid demonstrates their capability in construction projects. The company's website suggests a focus on residential, institutional buildings, and roadways, particularly in the Hyderabad region.
Looking ahead, Hisar Airport's future connectivity plans include integration with the Delhi-NCR RRTS project's Delhi-Bahadurgarh-Rohtak-Hisar line via an underground station. However, the realization of this plan is contingent on further development and implementation.
