Pune, India (Urban Transport News): India's industrial equipment supplier and exporter company Swastik Overseas India-led consortium emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for the supply of depot M&Ps for Pune Metro Rail project. Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation (Maha-Metro) issued a letter of acceptance (LoA) to the consortium for the contract worth Rs 110 crore for design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing, commissioning & comprehensive maintenance services (CMS) of machinery and plants (M&Ps) for two numbers of rolling stock depots at Range Hill and Vanaz of Pune Metro Rail project including training of personnel.
The LOA was issued on 21st March 2020 ahead of commencing countrywide lockdown in the wake of the COVID-19 Pandemic outbreak. The four-member consortium includes Swastik Overseas India, URC Construction Private Limited, Fabriyka Obrabiarek Rafamet S.A., Poland and Bertolotti Rail S.R.L Italy. In October 2018, Maha-Metro floated tender for the supply of M&Ps for two metro depots of under Phase I of Pune Metro Rail project vide tender notice P1M&P-01/2018. Technical bids were opened on 11th June 2019. Under the contract, the consortium will supply depot M&Ps as listed below:-
In addition to the above, the supplier has been given the responsibility to provide comprehensive maintenance services. The Maha-Metro has achieved about 50 percent construction activities of Phase I of the Pune Metro Rail project ahead of countrywide lockdown and rest work is expected to complete by the first quarter of 2021.
