STUP, SMEC and AECOM appointed as DDC for Bangalore Metro Phase 2

Bengaluru, India (Urban Transport News): The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRC) has recently selected three firms and issued the letter of acceptance (LOA) to provide detailed design consultancy services for various sections of phase 2 of Bangalore Metro Rail project. Delhi based consultancy firm, STUP Consultants Private Limited has been selected as a detailed design consultant (DDC) for Elevated Challaghatta Yard & Depot cum workshop with Inter Modal Integration Hub (IMIH) for Phase 2 of Bangalore Metro Rail project.

The total value of the contract is Rs 4.47 crore and the LOA was issued on 31st January 2020. Australian consultancy firm SMEC International Pty. Ltd. has been selected as a detailed design consultant (DDC) for providing consultancy services for Viaduct & Stations (excluding U-Girder system of Superstructure) from Central Silk Board Junction to HBR Layout along Outer Ring Road (Section-1) for Bangalore Metro Rail Project, Phase-2A & 2B.

The total value of the contract is Rs 8.3 crore and the LOA was issued on 7th February 2020. A consortium of AECOM India Private Limited and Consulting Engineers Group Ltd (CEG) has been selected as a detailed design consultant (DDC) for providing consultancy services for Viaduct & Stations (excluding the U-Girder system of Superstructure) from HBR Layout to Kempegowda International Airport (Section-2) for Bangalore Metro Rail Project, Phase-2A & 2B.

The total value of the contract is Rs 6.26 crore and the LOA was issued on 12th February 2020. Phase 2 of Bangalore Metro Rail project spans a total length of 72.095 km and will have 61 stations. out of, 13.79 km is underground (including 12 stations), 0.48 km at grade and 57.825 km is elevated.  The project includes the construction of two new lines and an extension of Phase 1 corridors.
