KEC bags electrification contract of Delhi Metro's Pink Line Extn Corridor

Patna, India (Urabn Transport News): The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) awarded a contract worth Rs 68.98 crores to KEC International Limited for the supply of the 25KV Overhead Equipment (OHE) electrification system for the Line-7 extention (Maujpur - Majlispark) under the Phase 4 of Delhi Metro Rail Project on October 8, 2021.

A total of four firms were participated and their financial position are as under:

  • KEC International Ltd: Rs 68.98 crores (L1)
  • Shyam Indus Power Solutions: Rs 73.09 crores (L2)
  • Cimechel Electric: Rs 81.38 crores (L3)
  • Salasar Techno Engineering: Rs 83.26 crores (L4)

The scope of work includes Design, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of 25 kV Overhead Equipment (OHE), 33 kV Auxiliary Power Supply for elevated section of Line-7 Ext. (Maujpur to Majlispark) and Augmentation works of Mukundpur depot of Delhi Metro Rail Project Phase-IV..

Tender for the above work under contract package DE-14 was invited in March 2021 with an estimated cost of work of Rs 79.52 crores and completion period of 540 days. Technical bids were opened in June 2021 where the names of eight bidders were revealed.

The names of bidders are KEC International, Alstom Transport India, Cimechel Electric, Kalpataru Power Transmission, Ojasync Pvt. Ltd, Salasar Techno Engineering, Shyam Indus Power Solutions and Texmaco Rail and Engineering. The other four bidders including Alstom Transport disqualified in the technical round.

KEC Has to complete the work in 1.5 years. The construction works for this section with eight stations at Yamuna Vihar, Bhajanpura, Khajuri Khas, Sonia Vihar, Wazirabad Surghat, Jagatpur Village, Jharoda Majra and Burari are also being carried out by KEC International - Longjian JV under DC-02 Package.
