Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metro Rail services started from Monday between Ameerpet and LB Nagar. The distance between this stretch is 16 kilometers long. After opening of this section, the entire corridor of the first phase now become operational. On Sunday, the Metro Rail Safety Commissioner issued a security certificate for passenger train operations on this route after the successful trial.
Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Governor ESL Narasimhan flagged off a metro train from Ameerpet station at 12 noon on Monday. NVS Reddy, managing director of Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL), said that there are 16 stations in this 16 kilometer long route.
Along with this, 29 km long corridor-1 was being started between Miyapur and LB Nagar. Let us tell you that Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 30 km long Miyapur-Nagole section of the 72-kilometer long elevated Hyderabad Metro Rail Project in November 2017. This is the largest public-private partnership (PPP) project in the world.
Here are few glimpses from the flagging off ceremony of Metro Rail services from Ameerpet to LB Nagar. There are already 24 stations in the 30 kilometers long section. Reddy said that the route of the metro has been 46 kilometers long after the operation started from Ameerpet on LB Nagar Marg.
This is the second largest metro route in the country after Delhi. Reddy said that the Ameerpet Hightech City Line will be started from December this year. This line will be 10 kilometers between Jubilee bus station and MGBS.
