New Delhi, India (Urban Transport News): In a groundbreaking development for academic collaboration, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV), Vadodara, officially formed their partnership with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Metro Bhawan. The ceremony, attended by Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director of DMRC, and Professor (Dr.) Manoj Chaudhary, Vice Chancellor of Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, marks a significant leap towards enriching academic endeavors and fostering a lasting partnership between these two premier institutions.
Under the umbrella of this historic MoU, DMRC and GSV will collaborate to advance studies and research in the realm of transportation and logistics, with a specific focus on Metro Rail Technology. The collaboration aims to promote research, education, and training, deepening the understanding of scientific, technological, and management issues in the field. It will also establish a seamless platform for knowledge exchange, fostering innovative solutions across diverse disciplines, and enhancing capacity building through participative learning.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the collaboration, Dr. Vikas Kumar stated, "This collaboration is indeed a win-win situation for both the institutions, marking a significant step towards contributing to the larger cause of nation-building." The synergies between DMRC, renowned for its premier training academy, the 'Delhi Metro Rail Academy,' and Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, India's first university in the transportation and logistics sectors, are expected to create positive waves in both the academic and transportation landscapes.
DMRC, through its Delhi Metro Rail Academy, has been providing customized training since 2002, covering various aspects of project planning, implementation, and operations and maintenance of rail-based urban transportation systems. On the other hand, Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) distinguishes itself as India’s first university dedicated to transportation and logistics. GSV offers a unique value proposition in applied education, training, skilling, and research through experiential learning and academia-industry interface, contributing to the development of top-quality manpower.
The collaborative efforts between DMRC and GSV are anticipated to bring about positive changes in both the academic and transportation sectors. By combining their strengths, these institutions aim to address contemporary challenges, introduce innovative solutions, and contribute significantly to the growth and development of the nation.
The MoU signing between DMRC and Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya signifies a strategic partnership that goes beyond institutional boundaries. As these two pioneers join forces, their combined expertise is poised to revolutionize the academic landscape in transportation and logistics, shaping the future of sustainable urban development.
