GR Infraprojects bags Rs 592.17 crore contract of Delhi-SNB-Alwar RRTS corridor

New Delhi, India (Urban Transport News): Gurugram based EPC company GR Infraprojects Limited (GRIL) on Tuesday announced that it has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for construction of the first leg of Delhi-SNB-Alwar RRTS corridor of National Capital Region Transport Corporation Limited (NCRTC).

"We are glad to announce that we won our first elevated rail project under NCR Transport Corporation with project value Rs 592.17 crore," said in the release. A total of three construction firms namely GR Infraprojects Limited, Tata Projects Limited and Cherian Varkey Construction Company Private Limited (CVCCPL) were submitted their bids for the work of construction of 8.5 km elevated section including three RRTS stations (Rajiv Chowk, Sector 17 Guugram and Udyog Vihar) of Delhi-SNB-Alwar RRTS corridor from Rajiv Chowk to Udyog Vihar in Gurugram. As per sources from the NCRTC, the price quoted by the L1 and L2 bidders are as under-

  • GR Infraprojects Limited: Rs 592,17,65,833.00
  • Tata Projects Limited: Rs 648,50,36,616.00

As per NCRTC, the estimated cost of the work was Rs 588 crore. Technical bids were opened online on 14th February 2020 and subsequently, financial bids were opened on 4th April 2020 after evaluating the technical bids submitted by all three participants. The financial bids of Cherian Varkey Construction Company Private Limited were not opened as the firm not found technically qualified as per the eligibility criteria and terms given in the tender notification.

NCRTC had floated tender (DA/CN/COR-OF/014) in November last year for the work of Construction of the Elevated Viaduct from the end of the Ramp at IDPL Complex to Start of Ramp at Rajiv Chowk and three nos. of Elevated Stations viz. Udyog Vihar, Sector-17 and Rajiv Chowk (excluding Architectural finishing and Pre-Engineered Steel Roof structure of Stations) of Delhi-Gurugram-SNB RRTS Corridor. This was the first construction tender of the Delhi-SNB-Alwar RRTS corridor.

According to terms of the contract, GR Infraprojects Limited (GRIL) has to complete the work within 2.5 years from the date of issuance of the letter of acceptance (LoA) by NCRTC. GR Infraprojects Limited (GRIL) is an integrated road EPC company with experience in the design and construction of various road/highway projects across 14 States in India. The primary business operations of the company are broadly divided into three categories: (i) civil construction activities under EPC services; (ii) development of roads and highways on a BOT basis; and (iii) manufacturing activities, under bitumen, manufacture thermoplastic road-marking paint and road signage and fabricate and galvanize metal crash barriers.
