Bengaluru, India (Urban Transport News): The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRC) today opened the technical bids for three package civil contracts notified earlier in last year for the comstruction of 38-km Kempegowda International Airport and KR Puram Corridor (Airport Line) under Phase 2 of Bangalore Metro Rail Project.
As per data unvieled by BMRC, the package wise bidders are as under:
Package 1
Estomated Cost: Rs. 639.95 cr (Kempapura to Kasturi Nagar, 11 km)
Bidders
This package involves the construction of the eight metro stations and a 650-metre link line to Baiyappanahalli at Kasturi Nagar, Horamavu, HRBR Layout, Kalyan Nagar, HBR Layout, Nagawara, Veerannapalya and Kempapura.
Package 2
Estomated Cost: Rs. 645.30 cr (Hebbal to Bagalur Cross, 11.67 km)
Bidders
This package involves the construction of an 11.6 km elevated corridor with five stations at Hebbal, Kodigehalli, Jakkur Cross, Yelahanka and Bagalur Cross, including a 250-metre pocket track.
Package 3
Estomated Cost: Rs. 620.88 cr (Bettahalasuru to Airport, 15.0 km)
Bidders
This package involves the construction of a 15-kilometer stretch from Bettahalasuru to the Airport. This package has received a better response from the bidders as this section is closer to the airport and this stretch includes the construction of only two elevated Metro stations at Bettahalasuru and Doddajala, and a 718-metre stretch to be cut and covered in front of the Yelahanka Air Force Station, which is not as complex as underground work.
As the Central Government cabinet had recently approved the Phase 2A & 2B project of Bangalore Metro, the financial bids will be opened soon to award the contract to the eligible bidders. Earlier, the deadline of these contract packages was postponed many times in a year.
