Chennai, India (Urban Transport News): In a significant stride towards enhancing commuter convenience, the Chennai Metro Rail (CMRL) has unveiled the Metro Connect Service—a dynamic initiative aimed at providing seamless last-mile connectivity to key areas such as IT parks and educational institutions. Operated in collaboration with M/s Fastrack Cabs, this service is poised to revolutionize daily commuting for thousands.
The Metro Connect Service took its maiden journey with a grand inauguration at RMZ One Paramount, Porur. Thiru. Rajesh Chaturvedi, Director (Systems and Operations) of CMRL, presided over the launch, accompanied by Thiru. Julian Pradeep Francis, Senior Vice President - Asset Management, RMZ One Paramount, along with esteemed senior officials and staff from CMRL.
At the heart of this innovative service lies the Tempo Traveller-based Air Conditioned Metro Connect, featuring a commendable seating capacity of 18 passengers in each of its two vehicles. Operating during weekdays, from Monday to Friday, the service offers two convenient time slots: 8.30 AM to 11.30 AM in the morning and 5.30 PM to 10.30 PM in the evening, with the flexibility for schedule adjustments based on demand.
The Metro Connect Service orchestrates a seamless shuttle between RMZ One Paramount and Alandur Metro Station, spanning an approximate distance of 12 KM each way. With an estimated travel time ranging from 15 to 30 minutes, contingent on road traffic conditions, commuters can anticipate swift and efficient journeys, alleviating the common stressors of city traffic.
Emphasizing accessibility and affordability, commuters can effortlessly access the Metro Connect Service through the FastTrack Cabs mobile application, available on both IOS and Android platforms. The cost-efficient fare of INR 50 per ride makes this service an attractive and viable option for the daily commute, promising unmatched convenience and value.
