Centre approves Bhopal and Indore metro rail projects of MP Metro Rail

New Delhi/Urban Transport News Desk:  The road to the MP Metro Rail in Indore and Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh has been cleared. The Central Government has approved the metro rail project in these two cities. These projects will be a big gift for the people as here in the election in a year. After sanction of funds for the project, the project is expected to complete in four years.

The central and state government's share in the total cost of the metro rail project being created in both cities will be half-a-half. Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, who came to give information about the Cabinet's decision, said that the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the draft of 'MP Metro Rail Project' on Wednesday. A total of Rs 6,941 crore will be incurred on proposed metro rail project in Bhopal.

In Madhya Pradesh's capital, Bhopal, the total length of 27.87 km will be metro. There will be two corridors, in which the first corridor will be built from Karaunda Circle to AIIMS. Its length of this corridor will be 14.99 km. While the other corridor will go from Bhadbhada Square to Ratnagiri Teeraha which length will be 12.88 km. It is believed that due to the completion of these projects, all the major parts of the city will be reconnected. A total of 16 stations will be constructed on the first 14.99 km long corridor. The two stations will be underground and the remaining 14 will be elevated.

The other 12.88 km long corridor will have 14 stations, which will be elevated. Central Government has given a green signal to the proposal to run Metro Rail in Indore, the second largest city of Madhya Pradesh. The whole city will connect 31 km of metro rail in Indore. It will cost a total of Rs 7500 crore. This project will become a ring line, which will reach Bangla Square from Bengaluru Square, Vijayanagar, Bhavarshala, Airport, Patasia. A total of 30 stations will be built on this ring line. This will strengthen the internal traffic system of these cities. This project will also be completed in four years.
