New Delhi, India (Urban Transport News): National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) invites international competitive bids from eligible Bidders for providing European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 2 signalling solution for Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor.
Package 24: Design, Supply, Installation, Testing & Commissioning of Signalling & Train Control and Telecommunication Systems for Delhi – Ghaziabad – Meerut RRTS Corridor of NCRTC.

The Rs 30,274 crore Delhi–Meerut RRTS is an 82.15 km long under-construction regional rail project connecting Delhi to Meerut via Ghaziabad. Recently, Bombardier Transportation emerged as the lowest bidder for supply 210 standard Rolling stock coaches to be operated in this corridor with a maximum speed of 160 km/h. National Capital Region Transport Corporation has decided to equip the line with ETCS Level 2 Signalling solution.
The design speed of the RRTS train will be 180 kmph while the operational speed will be 160 kmph. The LTE Backbone will cater to ETCS data, Mission Critical Voice and On-Board CCTV streaming. Telecom subsystems like CCTV, PIDS, PAS, FOTS, ACIDS, Master Clock, Telecom SCADA, Telephone, CDRS and Train to Ground Wireless Network are also part of the package.
The implementation will be interoperable with the other two corridors (Delhi – Panipat and Delhi-Gurugram-SNB-Alwar). The distance between Delhi and Meerut will be covered in around 62 minutes. The project is expected to start operations by 2025.
