Mumbai, India (Urban Transport News): Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) today invites bids from the consultancy firms for carrying out of Geotechnical Investigation work for the preparation of DPR for the extension of Mumbai Metro Line-5 from Rajiv Gandhi Chowk to Temghar and Durgadi Chowk to Ulhasnagar.
The planning of extension of the Line-5 (Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan APMC) to Ulhasnagar was announced by the then Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in October 2019. After that MMRDA had started working on this plan.

Geotechnical Investigation works for the preparation of DPR for the extension of Mumbai Metro Line-5 from Rajiv Gandhi Chowk to Temghar and Durgadi Chowk to Ulhasnagar.

Earlier on 15th September 2020, DMRC had invited bids for carrying out of Topographical Survey works for the preparation of DPR for the extension of Mumbai Metro Line-5 from Rajiv Gandhi Chowk to Temghar and Durgadi Chowk to Ulhasnagar.
Under this plan, the 24.9 km Line-5 of Mumbai Metro Rail Network will be extended by 7 km from Durgadi Chowk in Kalyan to Ulhasnagar, with a new 8 km loop within Bhiwandi connecting Rajiv Chowk with Temghar.
