Noida, India (Urban Transport News): The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has planned to connect two important projects being built in Greater Noida Area with Pod Taxi. It has been decided to operate a pod taxi 5.5 km from Film City to Noida International Airport. Due to the airport, many plans have been made for connectivity from the surroundings. The sites will be developed around the airport, which will also have offices of multinational companies. There will also be large commercial complexes. A 1000 acre film city is also going to be built in Noida Sector-21, which will also bring a lot of film artists.
The tourism center will be developed at a distance of 5.5 kilometers between Noida Airport to Film City. Tourist traffic will increase considerably here. Toy City, Apparel Park, Handicraft Park and MSME cluster are also developing nearby. To cover this distance, no state-of-the-art means of transportation are proposed, only private vehicles will be able to cover the distance. The proposed metro route from Greater Noida to the airport has a stoppage at the airport directly after Film City.
To build the express metro, only six stations have been decided on the nearly 35 km long route. Those working here will have trouble commuting to Noida Airport. Due to this, there are plans to operate a pod taxi between Film City and Noida Airport. Its construction also costs less than the metro. It will cost Rs 50 to 60 crores per kilometer. The expenditure on this route is estimated to be around Rs 300 crore.
Talking about the proposed plan, Dr. Arunvir Singh, CEO of Noida Internationa Airport Limited (NIAL) said:
There are plans to operate a pod taxi between Film City to Noida Airport. DMRC will prepare its feasibility report. Travel between the airport and the film city will be easy.
The goal is to make Noida Airport and Film City in the next three years. In view of this, there are plans to run Pod Taxi with him. In view of this, Noida International Airport Limited (Niall) has decided to give the responsibility of preparing its feasibility report to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). It may take two to three months to prepare the report. Once the report submitted to the authority, the final decision will be taken. Let us tell you that earlier there was a plan to run a pod taxi between New Ashoknagar to Noida Airport, but after the bullet train connectivity from Delhi to Noida Airport was planned, this project was stopped.
Pod taxis can run at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour. It will be elevated. A taxi will be able to seat 4 to 6 passengers, the number of passengers can be used. The double-track will be made up to Noida Airport. This modern transport system is currently in use at Heathrow Airport in London.
