Ahmedabad, India (Urban Transport News): The Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited (GMRC) on 21st December 2020 has issued a letter of acceptance (LoA) and signed a contract with Ardanuy Ingeniería S.A. for providing detailed design consultancy services for the power supply & distribution system and 750V DC Third Rail traction electrification of Ahmedabad Metro (Phase-II) and Surat Metro (Phase-I) projects.
GMRC had invited tender notice for the appointment of detailed design consultants (DDC) for power supply and traction system for Ahmedabad Metro's Phase 2 and Surat Metro's Phase I in January/February 2020. The estimated value of each contract was Rs 5.66 crores.
The scope of work includes Detailed Design Consultancy Services for Power Supply & Distribution System, 750 V DC Third Rail Traction Electrification and SCADA System of Phase II of Ahmedabad Metro and Phase I of Surat Metro Rail projects of Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC).
The Ahmedabad Metro's Phase II is being funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) while Surat Metro's Phase I project is being funded by french funding agency Agence Française de Développement (AFD).
