Mumbai, India (Urban Transport News): The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) today invites online bids from the experienced civil contractors for the balance work of Line 2B (DN Nagar - Mandale) of the Mumbai Metro Rail Project.
Part Design and Construction of Balance Works of Package CA06, Elevated Viaduct and 5 Elevated Stations viz. MTNL Metro, S. G. Barve Marg, Kurla East, EEH and Chembur (excluding Architectural Finishing and Pre-Engineered Steel Roof Structure of Stations) from Chainage 46860.384m to Chainage 52729.312 of Line 2B (DN Nagar-Mandale) of Mumbai Metro Rail Project of MMRDA.
In January 2020, MMRDA had terminated the contract (CA-06) worth Rs 521.21 crores which was earlier awarded to the consortium of RCC Infra Ventures Ltd and MBZ Construction Ltd due to poor performance and progress of the work. Then MMRDA issued a fresh tender notice in August 2020.
A total of three infrastructure firms viz. J Kumar Infraprojects Ltd, Larsen & Toubro Ltd and NCC Ltd had submitted their bids whereas NCC Ltd emerged as the lowest bidder by quoting Rs 727.74 crores against MMRDA's estimate of Rs 568.55 crore. Due to higher rates quoted by NCC, MMRDA has cancelled the tendering process and now issued a revised notice with the new estimated cost of work.
