New Delhi, India (Urban Transport News): The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (DMRC) today launched global tenders for the construction of another 6.981 km underground section under Package DC-07 between Sangam Vihar station - Sarita Vihar depot including building three metro stations of Phase 4 of Delhi Metro Rail Project.
Design and Construction of Underground UP & Down Tunnels by Shield TBM from the end of Cut & Cover tunnel near Sangam Vihar metro Station up to existing Sarita Vihar depot, Underground Ramp and Cut & Cover Tunnels near Sangam Vihar and Tughlakabad metro station and Underground Metro Stations at Maa Anandmayee Marg, Tughlakabad Railway Colony and Tughlakabad including Retrieval/Launching shafts on Aerocity Tughlakabad corridor of Delhi Metro Rail Project of Phase-4.
Tender for construction of 6.117 km Underground section between Aerocity and Kishangarh along with 4 stations under contract package DC-08 is already floated by DMRC in last month.
The funding for this work will be provided by the Japanese institution Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) hence Bidding will be conducted in accordance with JICA’s “Single-Stage Two Envelope” Bidding Procedure.
On March 26, 2021, JICA has signed an agreement with the Government of India to provide an ODA loan of Rs 8,390 crores for the construction of three priority corridors comprising of extension of 12.5 km line (Mukundpur - Maujpur), 28.9 km Line 8 (Janakpuri West - RK Ashram) and a new corridor named Silverline spanning 23.6 km between Aerocity and Tughlakabad within Delhi.
