New Delhi, India (Urban Transport News): The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) on 19th October 2020 issued the first tender notice for preparatory survey work to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the proposed 459 km Delhi - Chandigarh - Amritsar High Speed Rail project.

The survey, Identification of Overhead, Over Ground, Underground Utilities And Identification Of Power Sourcing Options for substations along the proposed Delhi – Chandigarh – Amritsar High Speed Rail Corridor.

Project details
The proposed 459 km long Delhi – Chandigarh – Amritsar High Speed Rail Corridor will connect Delhi to Amritsar through 6 intermediate stations that are tentatively planned to be built at Delhi, Sonipat, Panipat, Ambala, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Amritsar. This corridor the fourth high-speed rail project proposed by the Government of India.
A consortium of RITES Limited and Systra MVA had completed the feasibility report of this project. According to the feasibility report of this submitted to the Ministry of Railways in 2017, the cost of the project was estimated to Rs 61,412 crore at a 2015 price level.
