Coimbatore, India (Urban Transport News): Railway consultancy form RITES Ltd. on July 26, 2021 has issued e-tender notice in two packages for the Topographical survey work of the proposed Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
Topographical survey using DGPS, Total Station, Auto Level and preparation of drawings using mapping software & Utilities Collection for Feasibility and Detailed Project Report for Mass Rapid Transit System in Coimbatore (Corridors C-2 & C-4).
According to the tender notice, the detailed topographical Survey will be done to represent all the visible details of the ground using DGPS and Total Station and Auto level along the corridor. The work will involve carrying out a detailed Topographic Survey along alignment (not less than 100m wide or up to built-up lines whichever is more). Buildings falling in 100m wide corridors shall be closed. The elements must be surveyed including documentation of geo-coded X, Y, and Z coordinates in a GIS platform.
The Coimbatore Metro Rail project which consists of five corridors, covering a total distance of 144 km, has been proposed and preparation of a detailed project report was underway.
