New Delhi (Urban Transport News): The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) invites bids from the eligible firms for the construction of the first underground bullet train station on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail corridor in Mumbai.
Package No. MAHSR-C-1: Design and Construction of Civil and Buildings Works including Testing and Commissioning on Design-Build Lump Sum Price basis for Double Line High Speed Railway for Mumbai Underground Station, Cut & Cover Tunnel and Shaft -1 from MAHSR Km. -0.255 to Km. 0.775 at Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) in the State of Maharashtra for Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor.

The proposed terminus at Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (bullet train) service will be a three-storey underground structure. The BKC terminus will have six platforms for the trains on the lowest floor of the three-level station. A variety of facilities for commuters on the second floor, including recreational activities, will be provided.
The BKC Bullet Train Station will be constructed near the headquarters of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). This station will have shops, ticket counters and a food court at the middle level, while the top floor will be used as the station administrative office and for equipment needed for train operations. The Maharashtra Government has also proposed a plan to construct 91m tall International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) above the BKC terminus.
The proposed BKC Bullet Train Station shall connect the two metro rail corridors of the Mumbai Metro Rail network - Metro 2B (DN Nagar-Mankhurd) and Metro-3 (Colaba-Bandra-Seepz) underground lines.
