Mumbai, India (Urban Transport News): Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) on 13th January 2021 opened financial bids for providing General Consultancy for system works of Mumbai Metro's three corridors viz. Metro-5 (Thane – Bhiwandi – Kalyan), Metro-7A (Andheri East – CSIA Terminal-2) and Metro-9 (Dahisar East – Mira Bhayander).
According to the financial bid result, french consultancy firm Systra MVA emerged as the lowest bidder among other 4 contractors namely Ayesa - Italferr JV, SMEC-RITES-Hill International-MM JV, Egis Rail - AECOM JV and DB Engineering & Consulting according to Quality cum Cost Basis System (QCBS) method adopted by MMRDA. The selection is made through a combination of points scored in technical and financial evaluation.
Tenders for this contract package were invited in February 2020 and technical bids were opened in June 2020. Now, bids have been sent for final evaluation by the tender committee.
The scope of work includes providing General Consultant for system works of Part of the corridor of Metro Line 5 (Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan), Metro Line 7A (Andheri (E) to CSIA), Metro Line 9 (Dahisar(E) to Mira Bhayander of Mumbai Metro Rail Project of MMRDA.
If everything Okay as per the terms of the tender notice, MMRDA will issue a letter of acceptance in favour of Systra MVA for providing assistance in design, supervision, safety, quality control and contract management for all systems such as rolling stock, train control and signaling system, overhead catenary systems, power supply, telecom, automated fare collection (AFC), escalators etc.
It is pertinent to mention here that a consortium of SYSTRA MVA led consortium consisting of Consulting Engineers Group Ltd and SYSTRA MVA Consulting (India) already providing the General Consultancy services for civil works of these 3 corridors since September 2019.
