New Delhi, India (Urban Transport News): The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) has recently opened technical bids for Rs 1,365.51 crore underground tunnel work contract (package DC-07) of Delhi Metro Phase 4. DMRC on August 18, 2021 revealed that a total of six multinational construction firms/consortia have submitted their bids to construct 6.981 km long tunnel including three metro stations between Sangam Vihar and Tughalakabad Station pertaining to upcoming Aerocity- Tughlakabad corridor (Silver Line).
Design and Construction of Underground UP & Down Tunnels by Shield TBM from end of Cut & Cover tunnel near Sangam Vihar metro Station up to existing Sarita Vihar depot, Underground Ramp and Cut & Cover Tunnels near Sangam Vihar and Tughlakabad metro station and Underground Metro Stations at Maa Anandmayee Marg, Tughlakabad Railway Colony and Tughlakabad including Retrieval/Launching shafts on Aerocity - Tughlakabad corridor of Delhi Metro Rail Project, Phase 4.
Tender for the above contract package was invited in May 2021 with the estimated cost at Rs 1,365.51 crores by DMRC. Now, bids have been send for technical evaluation and once the evaluation completed, DMRC will open the financial bids to announce the name of winner (lowest bidder) of the contract.
The 23.622 km long Silver Line (Line 10) will connect Tighalakabd to Aerocity with 15 stations to be built at Tughlakabad, Tughlakabad Railway Colony, Anandmayee Marg Junction, Tigri, Khanpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Saket G Block, Saket, Lado Sarai, Mehrauli, Kishangar, Masoodpur, Vasant Kunj (Sector-D), Mahipalpur and Delhi Aerocity
The phase 4 of Delhi Metro Rail project is partially financed by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
