Kanpur, India (Urban Transport News): The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (UPMRCL) on 14th January 2021 opened the financial bids of the first underground civil contract package KNPCC-05 which was called to build an 8.621 km tunnel including four metro stations of Kanpur Metro Rail project.
A total of seven infra companies/consortiums have participated in the bidding process. As per the result shared by UPMRCL, the financial position of each bidder are as under:
However, the seventh bidder Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co. Ltd. (STEC) did not qualify in the technical evaluation stage. In last week, UPMRCL has shortlisted six bidders who were found compliant with the terms of tender notice.
The tender notice for this package was invited on 6th July, 2020 with an estimated cost of work of ₹1,400 crores. Technical bids were opened on 30th September 2020.
The scope of work includes design and construction of Tunnel from the start of the elevated ramp (after Motijheel Station) to end of Nayaganj station including four underground metro stations (viz. Chunniganj, Naveen Market, Bada Chauraha and Nayaganj) and ramp including Architectural finishes, E&M, TVS, ECS etc. on Corridor-1 of Kanpur Metro Rail Project.
Now bids sent for final evaluation by the tender committee and everything found as per terms of tender notice no. UPMRC/CE-Contract/KNPRCC-05/2020, the letter of acceptance (LoA) will be issued in favour of the lowest bidder. The bidder will have to complete the work in 36 months.
