New Delhi, India (Urban Transport News): Mr. Rakesh Gaur, Chief Executive, SAE Towers, has been conferred as "Most Accomplished EPC Business Leader" of the year. This award given to him for his extra-ordinary contributions in different leadership roles in EPC sectors. He has wide experience in developing major railway infrastructure projects in various countries including India.His name was selected by a jury/panel comprising experts from the Rail & Metro sectors for the 2nd Urban Infra Business Leadership Awards 2022.
The award was received by Shri Nitansh Platia from Shri Rajesh Agrawal, Former Member (Rolling Stock), Railway Board, Ministry of Railways on his behalf in presence of dignitaries from the nodal ministries, government departments, public sector undertakings (PSUs), and industry leaders from the leading multi-national companies (MNCs) engaged in developing major urban infrastructure in India.
The Urban Infra Business Leadership Awards are given to corporate and individual leaders in recognition and honor for their extraordinary contribution to developing major infrastructure projects in India through their innovative ideas, products, and services. A total of 41 (9 individuals and 32 corporate) were felicitated with the 2nd Urban Infra Business Leadership awards.
Mr. Rakesh Gaur is a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from MS University, Baroda and Masters in International Business and Administration from Kainar University, Almaty. Currently, Mr. Gaur is the Chief Executive of SAE towers and is based out of Brazil.
A seasoned professional in Tendering, Project Management, Procurement, EPC contracts in Railways, Power and automation space, Mr. Gaur has worked with over 100 Indian and International projects. He was associated with big names like ACC, L&T, IRCON, SIEMENS, ABB, Kalpataru Power Transmission Limited, KEC International and has over three decades of experience ,working across geographies and travelling extensively across the Globe.
He had also been a visiting professor with various esteemed universities of Central Asia. Mr. Gaur also served as Co- Chairman, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) - Central Asia Committee, CII - Africa Committee and CII - Railway Equipment Division in the past.
Mr. Gaur has been instrumental in turning around the Railway Business Units of KEC and KPTL. Not only did he doubled the top line but he also turned the divisions profitable.
Through his focused approach towards Project execution, Mr. Gaur has created new Benchmarks of faster execution and ensured before time completion of many projects.
The 1st edition of Urban Infra Business Leadership Awards was held virtually in 2020 due to the countrywide pandemic.
