Gurugram: The brake on the operation of country's first private metro (rapid metro) can be applied soon. Rapid Metro Rail Gurgaon Limited (RMGL) and Rapid Metro Rail Gurgaon South Limited (RMGSL) have given notice to the government to cancel the agreements. It says that the two companies have suffered a loss of Rs 1,484 crore. Now the government take over this project and compensate for the loss. At the same time, Chief Secretary D.S. Dhesi has formed a three-member committee.
Notice given on 17th July RMGL and RMGSL gave notice on July 17. In their notice it has said that RMGL constructed Rapid Metro from MG Road to NH-8 and RMGSL laid the network of Metro network from Sikanderpur station to Sector 56. According to the sources, the notice said that for the last three years, HUDA has been demanding permission from the two companies to advertise them. Shutting down illegal running of auto and buses on the road. Not doing so, the government has neglected the agreements with the two companies. This has resulted in a loss of Rs 520 crore to RMGL and Rs. 964 crore to RMGSL. The government has given 90 days time.
Three-member committee formed After this, the HMRTC meeting was held in Panchkula on August 4. The matter reached the Chief Secretary Dhesi. Dhesi formed a three-member committee. This includes GMDA CEO V. Umashankar, Chief Administrator of HUDA J. Ganesan and Corporation Commissioner Yashpal Yadav. Sources say that if the dispute does not settle soon, then a break on the rapid metro may take place. The government can take the metro running on these two routes.
HUDA has outstanding rent of about Rs 38 crores on these two companies. RMGL has given just about Rs 2.61 crore only in the last 8 years. RMGSL has so far deposited Rs 16.63 crore. According to sources, the financial condition of the IL&FS company is not well. Due to this, RMGL and RMGSL running under it are also being harmed. Due to the lack of footfall in the rapid metro, the two companies are in loss. In such a situation, these two companies have now blaming the government for such a critical situation.
