New Delhi, India (Urban Transport News): After imposing strict restrictions on city public transport services, some metro authorities have announced non-operation of metro train services during extended lockdown periods decided by the respective state governments. Here are the city-wise status of the metro train services:-
Metro services of Ahmedabad Metro are operational. No prohibition order issued by the state government to stop services during the extended lockdown period.
The metro train services in Bengaluru will remain prohibited from 10th May 2021 till 24th May 2021. The Karnataka Government has issued revised guidelines that affect metro services in Bengaluru city.
The metro train services in Chennai will remain suspended from 10th May 2021 till 4.00 AM on 24th May 2021.
In the wake of revised guidelines issued by the Govt. of NCT of Delhi yesterday, on the extension of Curfew in Delhi for the containment of Covid-19, the Delhi Metro services on all its Lines shall also remain suspended for passenger/essential services from 10th May 2021 till 5:00 AM of 17th May 2021. Similarly, no metro services will be available on Noida - Greater Noida Metro and Gurgaon Rapid Metro routes.
Metro services of Hyderabad Metro are operational. No prohibition order issued by the state government to stop services during the extended lockdown period.
The services of Jaipur Metro will remain suspended from 10th May 2021 to 23rd May 2021.
Metro services in Kochi will remain suspended till 16th May 2021.
No metro services will be available from 16th May to 30th May 2021.
The metro train services in Lucknow will remain suspended till 7.00 AM of 17th May 2021. The notification was issued by Uttar Metro Rail Corporation Ltd in accordance with new guidelines issued by Govt. of Uttar Pradesh for imposing partial lockdown in the state.
Metro services in Mumbai are operational from 6:50 am to 9:15 pm with a frequency of 12 mins in peak hours. Mumbai Monorail services will also remain operational.
Metro services in Nagpur city will remain operational. However, the frequency of metro on both corridors (Orange and Aqua Line) has been revised from 30 minutes to one hour.
