NCRTC to start work of Delhi-Gurugram-SNB RRTS corridor from March 2019

New Delhi (Urban Transport News): With the opening of Delhi-Gurugram-SNB (Shahjahanpur-Neemrana-Bihor Urban Complex) RRTS corridor the people can easily travel from Udyog Vihar to Neemrana. The NCRTC Board recently approved the detailed project report (DPR) of Delhi-Gurugram-SNB RRTS corridor in its last meeting. Now it expected that the construction work on this project may start in March 2019.

 

There will be seven stations will be constructed in Gurugram district under this corridor and after this Rewari area will start. Out of these, 2 stations will be underground and remaining 5 stations will be elevated. The platform screen doors (PSD) will be installed at all the RRTS stations to prevent accidents at platforms. Khedkidoula and Manesar stations will be underground whereas the remaining five stations will be built elevated. Initially, a train of 6 coaches will be run, and if needed, the number of coaches will be increased to 9.

 

Significantly, there is a plan to build RRTS corridor between Delhi and Meerut, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, and Alwar. Its total length will be 180 km. Firstly, work on the Delhi-Rewari-Alwar corridor project will start.  The corridor is expected to spend Rs 24,975 crore.

 

The train of Delhi-Gurugram-SNB RRTS corridor will be started from Sarai Kale Khan. From Sarai Kale Khan the train will run through the underground and go to the Aerocity directly after crossing two underground stations namely Jorbagh and Aerocity. The train from Aerocity will enter Gurugram. The first elevated station in Gurugram will be built in the Udyog Vihar and after that, the Sector-17 and the Rajiv Chowk station will be built.  After Rajiv Chowk, the Rapid Rail will again enter in underground section and remain in underground till Khedkidoula and Manesar station. and thereafter the train will be on elevated section again from Pachgaon to Dharuhera and MBR Corridor.

 

The RRTS stations will have advanced passenger security and safety provisions in line with Delhi Metro's Magenta and Pink Lines. Passengers will not be able to jump through railway track at RRTS stations. On the lines of Delhi Metro's Phase-III stations, the platform screen doors will be installed at all RRTS station platforms. It will open only when the Rapid Train enter into the platform and its door opens. For this arrangments,  fiber glasses  will be installed on the edge of the platform.

 

The Delhi-Gurugram-SNB RRTS corridor will connect several industrial areas viz. Gurugram, Manesar, Bawal, Neemrana, and Baharod. Keeping this in view, there is also planning to provide business coach facility in the Rapid Rail. It is believed that having a business coach in the rapid rail will have a big impact on the business. The frequency of trains will be maintained from 5-10 minutes. There will be a separate rack for carrying luggage in the coach and separate coach for women.
