Lucknow (Urban Transport News): The Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) Limited started preparations for pre-trial run testing of the metro train on upcoming two new routes i.e. Charbagh - Munshipuliya and Transport Nagar - Airport. For this, the team of Directors of Lucknow Metro along with several officers has visited Mumbai and submitted the application for the safety inspection of routes in the office of Commissioner for Railway Safety AK Jain.
It has been said that the metro will start run a month ahead the scheduled time, with the completion of the remaining work on the Airport-Munshipulia route. LMRC MD Kumar Keshav said that with the efforts of the Central and the State Government, the North-South Corridor (Amausi to Munshi Pulia Route) would be ready in record time, although he could not tell the exact date of the start of load testing and trial run on the elevated route.
According to him, work will be completed from Amausi to Munshipulia Route before December. After this, the safety team will inspect the route. If everything is okay, then trial run may start at the end of December or the first week of January. Subsequently, in March of the next year, the metro operations will start on the route, while the deadline to start the revenue services of metro on this route was fixed for the month of April 2019 in the DPR. 95% civil work completed According to the LMRC officials, 95% of civil work on elevated and underground routes has been completed from the airport to Munshipulia. Track laying and electrification works are also going to be completed soon.
This route will be ready for the load testing by the end of this month. Revised DPR of Charbagh to Vasant Kunj route MD LMRC Kumar Keshav informed that the revised DPR for Charbagh-Vasant Kunj Route is prepared by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) Limited and will be sent the State Government soon.
