Lucknow launches Chalo App to help people to plan their daily commute

Lucknow (Urban Transport News): The Lucknow city now become first city of the state that using "Chalo App" to change the lifestyle of million of people in their daily commuting.  The Chalo App for Lucknow city was launched yesterday by City Mayor Smt. Sanyukta Bhatia in presence of experts from Urban Mass Company Limited (UMTC) and Chalo App team.

The Chalo App has been conceptualized by Gurugram based Urban Mass Transit Company Limited (UMTC) along with Lucknow City Transport Services Limited (LCTSL) under the leadership of Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC). Chalo is a free mobile app that revolutionises public transport and helps people plan their daily commute. The app benefits lakhs of bus travellers by reducing their commuting time by as much as 40 minutes each day and helping them save money by finding the cheapest trip options to their destination.

By using the Chalo app, now people of Lucknow can know the live arrival time of their bus, so they can leave for the bus stop accordingly, Track the live GPS position of their bus on a map, Find the cheapest and fastest trip options, including all the bus route options to their destination, Plan their trip door-to-door using a multi-modal trip planner, Travel safely with features such as Emergency SOS and live trip sharing with friends and family, Locate bus stops closest to them. "With the launch of the Chalo app, Lucknow becomes the first city in Uttar Pradesh to offer a smart transport solution to its commuters, at par with the world’s leading cities.

The Chalo app will not only help unlock valuable time for bus travellers, but by increasing usage of public transport it will reduce traffic congestion, carbon emissions and overcrowding at bus stops which are big challenges in a city like Lucknow. Bus travellers of Lucknow can experience the Chalo app right away by downloading it free from the Google Play Store", said in the statement issued by the UMTC. Chalo is a free mobile app developed by Zophop Technologies Private Limited, a technology-driven transport solutions company that aims to make travel better for everyone.
