New Delhi, India (Urban Transport News): The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has opened financial bids for third track work contract package (MAHSR T-3) of Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Project on March 25, 2022.
Tender notice under this contract package was issued in August 2021 with the estimated work completion period of 1959 days. Technical bids were opened in December 2021. A total of four bidders had submitted their bids.
The scope of work includes Design, Supply and Construction of 116.175 km Tracks and Track related Works including Testing and Commissioning on Design-Build Lump Sum Price basis for Double Line High Speed Railway between Vadodara (MAHSR Km. 393.700) and Sabarmati Depot and Workshop (MAHSR Km. 509.875) in the State of Gujarat for the Project for Construction of Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor.
As per the financial bids results, Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) emerged as the lowest bidder by beating three other bidders. The financial position of each bidder is as under:-
However, the fouth bidder Tata Projects Ltd. did not qualified during the technical evaluation round. Hence. their price bids were not opened.
Now all bids have been sent for final evaluation.
The track works of 508.17 km Mumbai - Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor is devided in to three contract package (MAHSR T1, T2 & T3). Contract package T2 (worth Rs 5,142 crores) for Design, Supply and Construction of Track and Track related Works including Testing and Commissioning on Design-Build Lump Sum Price basis for Double Line High Speed Railway between Zaroli Village at Maharashtra-Gujarat Border (MAHSR Km. 156.600) and Vadodara (MAHSR Km. 393.700) in the State of Gujarat and the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli was awarded to IRCON International Limited and tender notice for package T1 is still pending.
NHSRCL will use a special slab track system for the Bullet Train project instead of a conventional ballasted track system used in main-line railway lines.
