New Delhi, India (Urban Transport News): Delhi based LKT Engineering Consultants Limited has emerged as the lowest bidder for providing detailed design consultancy services for Kochi Metro and Noida Metro Rail projects. In the second week of May 2020, the Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) issued a letter of acceptance (LoA) to LKT Engineering Consultants Limited has won a contract worth Rs 90 Lakh for providing detailed design of civil, structural, architectural and building services including electrical and mechanical (E&M) works for the viaduct and one elevated station from SN Junction to Thripunithura (Phase IB) under the Kochi Metro Rail Project.
The consultancy bids for the above contract were invited by KMRL on 11 February 2020. In addition to this, LKT Engineering Consultants Limited has also been declared as the lowest bidder (L1) for providing detailed design consultancy for Civil, Architectural and E & M Works of Noida-Greater Noida Metro Corridor from Sector – 51 Noida to Greater Noida Sector – 2, consisting of 9.605 Km Viaduct including 5 Elevated Stations. The Noida Metro Rail Corporation Limited (NMRC) has opened the financial bids on Monday (1 June 2020) where three bidders have participated in the tender for providing detailed design consultancy for Noida-Greater Noida Metro Corridor. However, the third bidder Rina Consulting S.p.A has not found technically qualified hence, its financial bids not opened. The tender notice for the above work was floated in January 2020 and as per NMRC, the estimated value of the contract was Rs 2.76 crore. On 28 May 2020, NMRC has also floated first tender for design and construction of elevated viaduct and five metro stations of the Noida-Greater Noida Metro Rail project.
