New Delhi, India (Urban Transport News): The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) and Japanese Delegation led by Koichi Hagiuda and Hiroshi Suzuki, Ambassador of Japan to India and Bhutan hold a joint meeting on 11th January 2023 in New Delhi.
The minister further said India has always placed the Indo-Pacific at the heart of its engagement with the countries of Southeast and East Asia under India's Act East Policy. "Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India has always placed the Indo-Pacific at the heart of its engagement with the countries of Southeast and East Asia vide India's Act East Policy," he said.
The minister interacted with the Japanese delegation to reiterate India's support towards cooperation with Japan in the sector of highway development, with the implementation of digital technology-enabled ITS services.
Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) is the application of sensing, analysis, control and communications technologies to ground transportation in order to improve safety, mobility and efficiency. Intelligent transportation system includes a wide range of applications that process and share information to ease congestion, improve traffic management, minimize environmental impact and increase the benefits of transportation to commercial users and the public in general.
