Hyderabad Metro starts trial run in Ameerpet-Hitech City section

Hyderabad (Urban Transport News): The Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited and L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited have jointly celebrated its first anniversary on Thursday. To memorize this occasion  KVB. Reddy, MD & CEO, L&TMRHL unveiled the First Anniversary logo of Hyderabad Metro Rail and traveled along with children from Aadarana (A home for orphaned and needy students) in a joyride from Nagole to Mettuguda.

Various events have been lined up to celebrate with our passengers like Slogan Competition, Pin your thoughts, Painting Competition and Lucky Draw amongst others. "Hyderabad Metro Rail has taken several initiatives to improve the ridership experience of commuters like providing free water, free toilets, exclusive ladies section, cross-sell offers, complimentary newspapers etc.", said in an official press release of HMRL.

The Hyderabad Metro rail given its commitment to transform the lives of the people of Hyderabad through ‘best-in-class’ mobility, connecting and creating vibrant urban spaces. LTMRHL has introduced various Last Mile Connectivity options like electric vehicles, rent a bike service, rent a bicycle service, cab aggregator service, and bus service at Metro stations. The HMRL has shared the following data achieved during one year of the journey-

  • Total punctuality recorded: 99.7%
  • Train Service Delivery: 99.9%
  • Commulative Passengers Nos.: 32 million

At present total 31 trains are running in Hyderabad Metro corridors, out of 19 trains in corridor-1 and rest 12 trains corridor-3. “I would like to congratulate everyone on the occasion of Hyderabad Metro Rail completing one year of its commercial operations successfully. Hyderabad Metro Rail Project is a unique example of a successful PPP model in public transport in India. Hyderabad Metro Rail has made a significant impact on the commuting behavior of the people in Hyderabad.

This has been possible with all the hard work, support and collaboration of all our employees, partners, stakeholders, media friends and contractors. I take this opportunity to thank the Government of Telangana and HMRL for their continued support and cooperation. I am thankful to all Hyderabadis for overwhelmingly welcoming and adopting Hyderabad Metro Rail as a life-line in public transport. Trial test run began on Ameerpet-Hitech City section To mark the first anniversary, Hyderabad Metro and L&T have commenced trial runs on 10 km stretch between the Ameerpet and Hitech City of Hyderabad Metro corridor-III. NVS Reddy, MD Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited and KVB Reddy, MD L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited have flagged off the trial test run of the train. Both CEOs have travelled with a team technical experts on this stretch and observed various critical parameters and performanceduring the trial run. There are total 8 stations in this section.
