GSV and BITS Pilani forge partnership in the field of Transportation and Logistics

Pilani, India (Urban Transport News): In a landmark collaboration, BITS Pilani, a pioneering institution in innovation and education, has formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, India's first transportation University. This strategic alliance aims to propel collaborative efforts in education, research, and innovation, fostering a synergistic environment for transformative initiatives in transportation and logistics.

The MOU outlines a comprehensive framework for collaboration, encompassing research and development, teaching, executive education, curriculum development, joint programs, faculty training, entrepreneurship, incubation, as well as joint conferences and workshops. By leveraging the unique strengths and expertise of each institution, BITS Pilani and Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya aspire to push the boundaries of knowledge and address challenges and opportunities in dynamic fields such as Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, Sustainability, Artificial Intelligence, Semiconductors, Sensors, and beyond.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof V Ramgopal Rao, Vice Chancellor, BITS Pilani, emphasized the significance of the partnership, stating, "This strategic partnership marks a significant milestone in our commitment to advancing education, research, and innovation. The MOU reflects our shared dedication to pushing the boundaries of knowledge in key supply chain sectors which will dominate our industries and business of tomorrow."

Prof Manoj Choudhary, Vice Chancellor, Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the collaborative opportunity to learn and innovate beyond boundaries. He stated, "By joining forces with BITS Pilani, we aim to create a powerhouse of innovation and excellence in areas that are crucial for the sustainable development of our society, nation, and economy, and to contribute towards Viksit Bharat@2047."

Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV), established in 2022, is a Central University and a pioneer in the domain of Transport and Logistics education in India. Formed by the Act of Parliament, GSV subsumes the National Rail and Transportation Institute (NRTI). With a unique mandate, GSV aims to create a resource pool of professionals for the entire transportation sector, encompassing technology, management, and policy. The university focuses on multidisciplinary teaching, executive training, and research.
