Agra, India (Urban Transport News): Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (UPMRC) has issued a global e-tender notice for the construction of 7.93 km long underground tunnel between RBS College Ramp and Taj Mahal Ramp for Phase 1 of Agra Metro Rail project.
Contract AGCC-02: Design and Construction of Tunnel from start of underground ramp (near Fatehabad Road Metro station) to end of ramp after RBS college Metro station including seven underground metro stations (viz. Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Jama Masjid, S.N. Medical college, Agra college, Raja ki Mandi and RBS college) including Architectural finishes, E&M, TVS, ECS etc. on Corridor-1 of Agra Metro Rail Project at Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India.
As per tender documents, the contractor has to deploy a total of three Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM) to complete the work. This package will be financed by European Investment Bank (EIB) as the UPMRC has applied for loan from this multilateral funding agency.
Contract for package AGCC-01 worth Rs 272.95 crore for the construction of 4-km elevated section of Agra Metro Rail project was awarded to Sam India Builtwell in October 2020 and the construction is started in February 2021. The workers from Sam India Builtwell has started casting of twin U-girder from August 4, 2021.
