Four firms in race of underground civil works of Patna Metro Rail project

Patna, India (Urban Transport News): Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on 14th January 2021 opened technical bids of the first underground contract package PC-03 for building an 8 km underground tunnel including six metro stations for Line-2 of Patna Metro Rail project.

According to data shared by DMRC, a total of four firms submitted their bids against the tender notice issued on 18th September 2020 which names are as under:

  • Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T)
  • Tata Projects Limited
  • Afcons Infrastructure Limited
  • ITD Cementation India Limited

The scope of work under this contract package includes the Design and Construction of the Twin Tunnel by Shield TBM, the Tunnel by Cut & Cover, the Underground Ramp at Rajendra Nagar and Six Underground metro stations viz. Rajendra Nagar, Moin Ul Haq Stadium, University, PMCH, Gandhi Maidan & Akashvani with Entry/Exits & Connecting subway including Architectural Finishing, Water Supply, Sanitary Installation & Drainage works on New ISBT to Patna Station of corridor-2 of Phase-I of Patna Metro Rail Project.

Here is the current position of other major civil contract packages:

  • Contract Package PC-01: This package was awarded to NCC Limited in September 2020 for the construction of a 6.1 km elevated stretch of Corridor-2 from Malahi Pakri to New ISBT that includes 5 stations. The construction activity already commenced by the firm.
  • Contract Package PC-02: This package was awarded to Quality Buildcon Pvt. Ltd. for construction of the New ISBT Depot for feeding metro trains for Corridor 1 & 2.
  • Contract Package PC-04:  Tender notice for this package already floated and a total of four bids (NCC Ltd, YFC Projects Ltd, Sam (India) Builtwell Pvt. Ltd. and U.P. State Bridge Corporation Ltd.) received for the construction of an 8-km elevated viaduct from Danapur – Patlipura Ramp and Mithapur Ramp – Khemni Chak including 7 stations.
