Chandigarh, India (Urban Transport News): The Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (HRIDC) has recently opened the technical bids for the civil contract package C-1 called for the constrction of 5.9 km Priority Section (C1) of the 121.742 km proposed Orbital Rail Corridor.
As per information shared by HRIDC, the corporation has received a total of 8 bids from the following construction firms:-
The scope of work includes construction of Earthwork, Bridges, Station Buildings, Retaining Walls and other miscellaneous Works in connection with laying of New BG Double Railway line of HORC Project from Km 49.7 to Km 55.6 and its connectivity (new BG single line) from proposed Manesar Station of HORC to existing Patli Railway Station of Indian Railways Network.
The priority section of this semi high-speed regional rail project will connect Manesar Station with the existing Patli Station on the Indian Railways’ network. It will run at-grade with an elevated loop viaduct, over main-line of Orbital Rail Corridor, connecting to Patli Station.
Tender notice for the afforsaid work was issued in November 2021 with a 15 month completion period.
Now the bids have been sent for technical evaluation. Once the evaluation completed, HRDIC will open the financial bids to reveal the name of lowest bidder.
The 121.742 km Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor (HORC) will connect Harsana Kalan in Sonipat and Asaoti in Palwal within Haryana state through 17 stations along the Kundli – Manesar – Palwal (KMP) / Western Peripheral Expressway. The estimated cost of this semi high-speed regional rail project is Rs 4,822.69 crore.
The consortium of RITES Ltd and SMEC was appointed as General Consultant for this project and it will be funded by Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) through a USD 400mn ODA loan.
