New Delhi, India (Urban Transport News): The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (DMRC) today opened technical bids of track rail supply tender issued for New ISBT Patna Depot of Patna Metro Rail project. Only one bid received from Jindal Steel & Power Limited (JSPL), according to DMRC.
Tender invited for Patna Metro's contract package PT-7 in December 2020 with an estimated cost of Rs 7.65 crores. The completion period of work is estimated to 365 days from the date of issuance of a letter of acceptance (LoA) to the contractor.
The scope of work includes Manufacturing and Supply of 1200 MT 90 UTS, UIC 60, 13 m, Class A 880 Grade Rails, IRS-T-12-2009 for New ISBT Patna Depot of Patna Metro Rail Project.
The package PT-7 and PT-8 is related to the trackwork of the proposed new ISBT depot of the Patna Metro Rail project. This depot will be used for feeding metro trains for the 30.91 km Patna Metro Rail project, Phase 1 comprising two corridors. This depot will be developed on 76 acres of land. Apart from the train maintenance facility, an administrative building will also be developed in this depot.
The 16.86 km long corridor 1 will connect Danapur Cantonment to Khemni Chak with 14 stations while corridor 2 will expand 14.05 km and connect Patna Junction Railway Station to New ISBT with 12 stations.
The construction contract of the New ISBT depot was awarded to Quality Buildcon on 2nd December 2020.
It is pertinent to mention here that the General Engineering Consultancy contract of Phase 1 of Patna Metro is awarded to DMRC Ltd.
