Delhi Metro's Dilshad Garden-New Bus Adda section will open on December 25

Ghaziabad (Urban Transport News):  The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) Ltd. is all set to open its Red Line extension from Dilshad Garden to New Bus Adda (Ghaziabad). On the birthday of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, there is a possibility of the introduction of the new section from Dilshad Garden on Line-1. The total length of this line is 9.41 km consisting total 8 elevated stations. The state government has sought the list and status of ongoing projects that would be completed before December 25 from all the authorities including Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA). Sources said that the work of Dilshad Garden-New Bus Adda section will be completed before December 25 as per the list sent to Govt.

The Urban Transport News team earlier published an update regarding the development of the section and planning for new corridors by the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA). Now, when the birthday of former prime minister's is approaching, information from the GDA has been sought from the state government and the initiatives for inaugurating various projects related to development at the state level. As per recent update published on DMRC website, over 97 percent of construction work of the corridor has been completed. Finishing works at all stations is going on in full pace.

The trial run of the Metro started in the middle of September by the DMRC. It is likely to complete at the end of this month. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), on the other hand, has submitted the last budget report to GDA. The cost of the project has been reduced to Rs 1,805 crores. Due to the decrease in cost, the GDA's responsibility to fund the project is ended. Now GDA is waiting to get the government's nod for the revised DPR of the corridor.

The revised DPR of this 9.41 km corridor is yet to be approved by the Central Government. For the approval of the revised DPR of the project before December 25, the state government is making several efforts before the centre. In this regard, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has written a letter to the centre. The revised DPR of the project is likely to be approved by the first week of December. GDA will get Rs.239.47 crores of the fund from the Centre as soon as the project gets approval.
