Delhi Metro to start work on Noida Sector 62-Sahibabad metro route

Ghaziabad, India (Urban Transport News): The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) Vice Chairperson Kanchan Verma has once again changed the decision taken by former VC Ritu Maheshwari to a metro project. In fact, the former VC had planned to start work first on Mohan Nagar - Vaishali route under the Metro extension. But Kanchan Verma has changed this from Noida Sector 62-Sahibabad route, and it has decided to start work on this route first.

In this regard, she ordered Chief Engineer V. N. Singh to arrange preparation of new DPR for this route with a new funding pattern within a week. V.N. Singh has started working on this. GDA officials believe that this will lead to Metro connectivity till Indirapuram and Vasundhara Residential Plans. Visitors to Noida, South Delhi, IGI Airport, Faridabad and Gurigram will be comfortable. GDA has also made a template to set up a subscription. The proposal will be sent to the regime on Monday. Construction work may start by the end of this year. The new route will be operational by 2021.

The people of Ghaziabad, especially the Indirapuram residents, will reach Noida easily with the opening of Noida Sector 62-Sahibabad route . Such people will get the advantage of Noida. Therefore working earlier on this route would be more beneficial. -Kanchan Verma, VC, GDA

For Metro Extension, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will not pay Rs 500 crores for purchasing of rolling stock (coaches and engine). Chief Engineer V.N. Singh said that in fact DMRC has changed its policy. Because of this, DMRC will no longer give the money for purchasing rolling stock coaches. Due to this funding load will now be divided among the rest of the departments. GDA has proposed funding patterns.

The highest contribution of Rs 571.90 crore has been set by GDA for itself. Rs.334.60 crore from Central Government, Rs.334.60 crore from Uttar Pradesh Government, Rs.365.04 crore from Housing Development Council, Rs.206.86 crore from municipal corporation and proposal of Rs.73.01 crore from UPSIDC will be sent to the government. While setting up the contribution, the area has been formed as a basis. Indirapuram villagers will have the maximum benefit of the construction of this corridor.

Five stations will be built The length of the corridor from Noida Electronic City to Sahibabad will be 5.11 km. This corridor will be built between Noida Electronic City and NH-9 in the middle of CISF Road in Ghaziabad. Metro stations have been proposed at Vaibhav section, Indirapuram, Shaktikhand, Vasundhara Sector-5 and Sahibabad (Vasundhara Lal Bati Cross) on this. The corridor Hinden elevated road will be built in the middle while crossing above.

Noida Sector 62-Sahibabad route will facilitate thousands of people from Noida, Indirapuram and Vasundhara areas. They will easily be able to move around through the Metro. People are still trapped in the jam and used to travel by bus and tempos.
