New Delhi (Urban Transport News): The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) Limited is going to give you a new year gift to the public of Delhi-NCR. Three new Metro Corridors, which have a combined distance of 50 kilometers, are ready to open by the end of December. Due to this, the distance of 50 kilometers will be added to the network of Delhi Metro in Delhi-NCR. After the opening of these lines, Delhi Metro phase-III project will also be completed. People waiting for the opening of the remaining section of Pink Line from Lajpat Nagar to Mayur Vihar Pocket-1 station for a long time.
New Corridors at a Glance
Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety, S. K. Pathak has carried out the safety inspection of Noida-Greater Noida (Aqua Line) corridor from 11 December to 13 December 2018.
With the opening of this section of the Pink Line, this line will complete a total distance of 59 km. This section will not cover the part of the 4 km which is halted due to land disputes between the DMRC and the owners. This part is located in the middle of Mayur Vihar Pocket-1 and Trilokpuri. With the opening of this section, the people of East Delhi will not have much trouble to reach in big markets of South Delhi. Lajpat Nagar, Sarojini Nagar, South Ex. and INA Market will come closer to 'East Delhi'.
Apart from this, the other two corridors, which are expected to open by the end of this month, are 9.4 kilometers of a stretch of the New Bus Stand from Dilshad Garden and 29.7 kilometers stretch of Aqua line of Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) which will connect Noida and Greater Noida.
"The trial process is going on from the new bus stand and Lajpat Nagar on Mayur Vihar Pocket-1 sections and soon CMRS will be called for inspection", said Anuj Dayal, CPRO of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).
Dayal said that it is expected that the three sections will start after the safety inspection and issuance of clearance by the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS). After the opening of Lajpat Nagar section, connectivity will not only increase in the market but it will be easy to go to Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station.
