One of these sections is on the Pink Line from Lajpat Nagar to Mayur Vihar Pocket-1, while the second section is on the extension of the Redline of Delhi Metro, under which the Red Line will be extended from Dilshad Garden to Ghaziabad's New Bus Stand.

Apart from this, the third section is also in NCR, under which the Violet line of Metro is extended from Faridabad's Escorts Mujesar to Ballabgarh. This will increase the area of the Delhi Metro in NCR. On one side, people from Ghaziabad will be able to come directly to Rithala, while the Kashmiri gate bus stand will connect directly to Ballabgarh. The Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety, SK Pathak has accorded the mandatory approval for the commencement of passenger operations on the 3.2 km long Escorts Mujesar – Raja Nahar Singh (Ballabhgarh) section of the Kashmere Gate – Escorts Mujesar corridor (Violet Line) of Delhi Metro. After December, only 10 km of the Phase-3 will be left to open.

Apart from this, a new section will be ready from Noida city center to the electronic city. In addition to the sections of Phase-3, DMRC is extending the Airport express line from Dwarka Sector-21 to the new Convention Center in Sector-25, Dwarka.
