New Delhi, India (Urban Transport News): Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) has been conferred with "Most Innovative Bus Transit System in India" Award in ‘Most Innovative Bus Transit System’ category at the 2nd Urban Infra Business Summit & Awards 2022 held on 7th November 2022 at India International Centre, New Delhi.
The award was given at a grand ceremony - 2nd Urban Infra Business Summit & Awards 2022 hosted by Urban Infra Group on 7th November 2022 at India International Center, New Delhi, India. The award ceremony was attended by dignitaries from the nodal ministries, government departments, public sector undertakings (PSUs), and industry leaders from the leading multi-national companies (MNCs) engaged in developing major urban infrastructure in India.
The MoBus and Mo E-Ride Public Transport services are being operated by Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) in Bhubaneswar. The award recognises and honours corporates/individual industry leaders for their outstanding performance in bringing about positive change and development in the urban infrastructure projects / public transport initiatives of the country.
CRUT is a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) set up by the Housing and Urban Development Department (HUDD), Govt. of Odisha. CRUT bagged this award for its outstanding contribution and commitment towards delivering public transit services of the highest calibre along with enhancing the urban mobility infrastructure in the Capital Region of Odisha.This award is the result of all the consistent efforts put by the team and the trust commuters have placed in the services of CRUT.
“It’s a matter of Pride to bring awards for the State. We would continue to keep up the good work and bring in new innovations in the public transport system in the State”, said Vijay Amruta Kulange, Managing Director, CRUT.
“It definitely feels good when all the hardwork of the team gets acknowledged in the form of awards. This reinstates our vigour to contribute our best in our services to the public. Awards like this fills us with pride and makes us walk the extra mile every time to ensure providing best commuter experience”, said Ms Dipti Mahapatro, General Manager (Personnel& Administration), CRUT.
In order to ensure a complete transformation of the urban public transport scenario in the Bhubaneswar city and its hinterland through use of smart technology, service benchmarking and customer satisfaction, CRUT) rolled out its new buses under the brand name of MoBUS. The service was launched on 6th November, 2018 to provide reliable and safe transportation connecting neighbourhoods. The aim is not only to focus on customer service, employee development and technology but also to provide the best public transportation possible and continue to improve the quality of life.
For their innovative public transit services, CRUT has bagged numerious awards such as Urban Mobility India Awards (four times), Smart Solutions Challenge & Inclusive Cities Awards 2022, United Nations Public Service Awards 2022, Smart Cities India Awards 2021 etc.
The Urban Infra Business Leadership Awards are given to corporate and individual leaders in recognition and honor for their extraordinary contribution to developing major infrastructure projects in India through their innovative ideas, products, and services. A total of 41 (9 individuals and 32 corporate) were felicitated with the 2nd Urban Infra Business Leadership awards.
The 1st edition of Urban Infra Business Leadership Awards was held virtually in 2020 due to the countrywide pandemic.
