Chennai, India (Urban Transport News): Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) on 8th December 2021, has re-issued a tender notice from the Rolling Stock manufactures to supply 78 cars & electrification work for Chennai Metro Rail Project Phase 2.

Design, Manufacture, Supply Testing, Commissioning of Standard Gauge Metro Rolling Stock (Electrical Multiple Units) 78 car & training of Personnel for Chennai Metro Phase2.

About Project
Chennai Metro Project is a Mass Rapit Transit System to be operated in Chennai City in Tamil Nadu, India. Chennai Metro Project Phase 2 will cover total nework length of 118.9 km which connects 50 Stations in Line-3 from Madhavaram Milk Colony to Sipcot; 31 stations in Line-4 from Lighhouse to Poonamallee Bus Depot and 46 Stations in Line-5 from Madhavaram to Sholinganallur.
