New Delhi, India (Urban Transport News): National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) on 12th January 2021 appointed French certification firm Certifier SA as Independent Safety Assessor for Systems for 82.15 km Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor.
For this, a letter of acceptance (LoA) worth Rs 88,05,750/- issued to Aether Engineering Solutions Pvt. Ltd. on behalf of Certifier SA. The Certifier SA and Aether Engineering Solutions Pvt. Ltd. has to complete the work in 54 months.
NCRTC had issued a tender notice (No. DM/GC/COR-OF/101) on 7th April 2020 for Independent Safety Assessment for Systems of Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor. A total of three firms had participated in the bidding process. The names of bidders are (1) Certifier SA (2) Bureau Veritas India Pvt. Ltd and (3) Italcertifer SPA. Technical bids were opened on 20th July 2020. Italcertifer SPA did not qualify in technical evaluation.
The Certifier SA will verify whether the relevant technical and operational risks have been reduced to an acceptable level before commissioning the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor. The Assessor will also help suppliers, operators, and system integrators to prevent failures before they occur as well as ensuring their systems are compliant with the safety requirements and global railway standards.
