BL Kashyap bags Rs 332 crore civil contract of India's first bullet train project

New Delhi (Urban Transport News): The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has issued a letter of acceptance (LoA) to Delhi based major infrastructure firm BL Kashyap & Sons Limited for the construction of the first bullet train terminal at Sabarmati, Gujarat, India.

The BL Kashyap & Sons Limited has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) among the 15 other bidders with a quoted amount of Rs 332 crores. A total of 16 Indian infrastructure firms have participated in the bid against the tender notice No. NHSRCIJCO/SBI-HUB/2018/7.

The tender was floated in August and Technical bids were opened on October 5. This is the first tender for constructing a bullet train station on the high sped rail route.

The scope of work includes design and build works for the Construction of Sabarmati HSR Terminal for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Project. The estimated value of the tender was 350 crores.

The detailed scope of work includes design and construction of the Terminal Building with all required services and defined finishes along with the Construction of FoB (Foot Over Bridge) including but not limited to planning detailed Architectural drawings, Structural design, Obtaining statutory and local body approvals, Civil and structural works. Architectural finishes, Electrical works (LV & HV), Fire Fighting works, Rain Water Harvesting, Solar Panels, and the methodology to ensure obtaining IGBC Gold Ratings. The Sabarmati terminal hub will act as the originating point for those boarding the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed bullet train from Ahmedabad and as a terminating point for those boarding the bullet train from the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai. The terminal station will be based on the theme of Mahatma Gandhi's famous Dandi March of 1930. Here is the proposed station design of the Sabarmati Terminal of Bullet Train project.

The Sabarmati terminal building will be a major interchange hub facilitating passengers to have seamless connectivity with the Indian railway network, the Ahmedabad metro, and the Ahmedabad BRT corridor.
