Bids invited for the construction of Challaghatta Depot of Bangalore Metro of Phase 2

Bengaluru, India (Urban Transport News): The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) issued a global tender notice for the construction of Challaghatta Depot of Namma Metro's Phase 2. Bids have been invited from experienced construction firms.

Scope of work 

Construction of Depot cum Workshop at Challaghatta in Reach-2 Extension of Bangalore Metro Rail Project, Phase-2.

Challaghatta will likely be a vital depot for the maintenance of trains and feed on Purple Line (Challaghatta-Whitefield). The proposed Kadugodi depot is close to Whitefield. It is also speculated that the current Byappanahalli depot will likely be re-purposed to cater to ORR-Airport Metro.

STUP Consultants Pvt. Ltd. is providing detailed designed consultancy (DDC) services for Challaghatta Depot and Inter Modal Integration Hub (IMIH). The consultant will provide producing and propose alternate designs of all architectural, building services, electrical and mechanical works for the depot’s structures, such as the stabling yard, DCC & administrative building, maintenance & workshop buildings, and a multi-level parking structure.
